The Guardianship of Ann Butler aged four years was granted to Pascoella de Souza. Ann was the daughter of Charles Butler, Captain of a Ship, who is dead. This Ann was his daughter by his first Wife who was daughter of Pascoella. Administration had been granted to the Widow of Charles Butler who was his second Wife. This Guardianship Granted, was a General Guardianship for all purposes. My Brother Chambers and I, had agreed a few days ago on another application of the like kind that these Guardianships were an exercise of part of the Prerogative granted to us, and that it was neither, part of the Equitable, nor part of the Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction for which reason Sir Robert Chambers was inclined that it should Issue out of the Office of the Clerk of the Crown, but because it always has Issued from the Register who is Register both of the Court of Equity and of the Ecclesiastical Court, I was
