[ILL] the Honourable Warren Hastings Governor General Philip Francis and Edward Wheler Esquires Councillors of the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal and its Dependencies here made ordained [ILL] and appointed and by the Presents to be filed of Record in the Supreme Court of Judicature of Fort William in Bengal do make Ordain constitute and appoint George Wroughton Esquire to be the Attorney for the [ILL] the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the East Indies in [ILL] of and for the Purposes mentioned in the Charter of Justice granted by his Majesty for [ILL] and constituting the said Supreme Court Judicature.
In Witness whereof the the said Governor General and Counsellors have hereunto set our Hands and the Seal of the said United Company at Fort William the Forty Seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty –
