After some Progress had been made in hearing the Cause, Sir Robert Chambers not being very well went home: before he went, he wrote his Opinion concerning a Point contested in the Cause, in the following Words
“The Romish Religion is tolerated here because none of the Penal Laws of England enacted against Popery are understood to extend to this Country; but though it is tolerated because there is no Law against it, it is not established here because there is no law for it.”
