1777. Sittings. [Wednesday] Nov. 26.

By order of the Plaintiff the Defendant was tied up to a Triangle of Bamboos, was hoisted up with his feet two or three Inches highth from the Ground, and with another Bamboo from One of the sides of the Triangle to another, about the heighth of his breast, to prevent him from swinging within the Bamboos, and was flogg’d with five Rattans tied togather, and received five or six strokes. He was cut in the back in some places, in others the Skin was taken off in others much bruis’d.
Afterward he was put in Irons. A paper was taken from him in consequence of this usage, but that was not enter’d into in this action it being the ground of another action.
He was confined twelve days.
The opening was fully proved.
