You brought, he said I have given two to the Cook and Ten I have. He gave me the Ten: The Cook said he did not give me two he left two at my house. I made no promises nor gave any threats, he said I took the Gold Mohurs out of my Master’s bureau.
Verdict. Guilty.

The Jury Recommended him, on account of his youth, and his having confess’d.

Charged with Stealing a piece of Cloth the property of Doduputty of the Value of Ten Pence.

Doduputty, Alias Deerooputty. The 20th of Assud about One o’Clock after I had wash’d myself I put my Cloth in the Sun to dry. He took the Cloth and was going to run away with it, I seized him, it was in my own compound in Calcutta.

I remark’d to the Jury the difference of the Name, and told them if they thought the Variance such as that it could not be consider’d as the same Name, they would acquit the Prisoner. He was acquitted.
