that Major Bailie was to join the Army I would have written so, but I only wrote it was a Gentleman in the Army.
Mr. Hardwick states in his Bill that when the bond was executed he said to Major Bailie “When do you go to the Coast” but if he had supposed his risk had depended on Major Bailie’s joining the Army he would have said “Sir When do you join the Army”.
