gave directions that the next Cause of importance which happen’d the Depositions should be taken in the form of Questions and Answers, and the present Cause is the first of Importance that has happen’d since, and is therefore the first Cause in which that method has been taken. We all agree that is manifestly the Most Clear way of writing the Evidence, and the reason we have not hitherto had the Evidence so taken has been, that we thought, the Evidence would be written in fewer words and consequently at less expense, when taken in the form of combining the Question and Answer in One Sentence.
We mean to try what the difference will be, and to have the Evidence taken for the future, in that which will be found the best way.
The first Witness proved possession in the Father of the Lessors of the Plaintiffs, and in the lessors of the Plaintiff, and their being dispossessed by Major Watson, now Colonel, and his possession under the Order of the President and Council.
