proves that he extracted Exh U: from the Khattah Book or Ledger of the Plfs at Nemeichern Mullick’s – as it was read to him by Gungadhur Mohurreer.
Deft’s Advocate then proposes to Read Exh: U.
Obj: to reading it (made by Plfs’ Adv:) because 1. It was not properly composed for wts never read the Entries he had copied. 2. Because it does not appear certainly that the book from [which] he copied is one of the books kept at Moidapoor by Plf or their agent.
To judge of this, the Court desired the man might be asked 2 or 3 questions, & from his answers were of opinion that Exh: U. could not now be read.
