Then follows the 9 Geo. 1. c. 26, which makes both the foregoing statutes, public acts of Parliament, & also enacts that if any subject of his Majesty, not lawfully authorised thereunto, shall go to, or be found in, the East Indies, he shall be deemed guilty of a high crime and misdemeanor, for which he may be protested in any of the courts at Westmr, and being convicted shall be liable to such corporal punishment, or imprisonment, or fine, as the court shall think fit. it enacts also that he may be seized and brought to England, where any Justice of Peace may commit him to the next County gaol, there to remain untill sufficient security be given by natural born subjects or doing [ILL] do appear in the Court where such [ILL] shall be commenced or depending, to answer the cause, and not to go or depart out of court, or out of this Kingdom, without the leave of the said court.
