The humble Petition of Rampersaud Podar.
Humbly Sheweth,
That your Petitioner begs leave to represent his defence against the charge laid against him. That in the month of Maug last one Sunker Doss rented one of the roos in your Petitioners house & lived to the 28th Faugun, being rent due 1½ rs together 5½ rs which he has borrowed of your Petitioner makes 7 rs. We attempted to remove his things from your Petitioner’s house your Petitioner [stopt?] his things in presence of many people, which the Tannadar Seized on & taken away together your Petitioner’s property both from the house & from the Shop as [ILL] the following List as also your Petitioner & Sunker were carried prisoners as thieves but your Petitioner can prove he never was guilty of
