I lived at Dynapoor, & used to sell toddy at a bazar there. I knew the brother of Tawakkul: that brother of T. is dead. In Chyte I went to buy toddy, when some Europeans came they took pots from some villagers, and cloth from others. Then they went under the toddy-trees. They went afterwards to the place where the shepherds Tawakkul & his brother, were sheering. Tawakkul was beaten and ran away: he received two blows. They then beat his brother: two Europeans struck him: four men were round him. I saw no other Europeans. Two of the men parted the other two who beat the Shepherds: A drummer those two were drummers who interposed: one was black the other, white. (she points to Watkins one, & to Grant)
