Tho’ Meredith is the Plf agst me. I knew nothing of Meden & Govindran [ILL] before I was in jail. Omer wd not speak with them in private. On 7 Cartic I made no memorandum in writing, nor of the former conversations. Others of Omer’s acquaintance called on him in jail; & on the or prisrs at the bar I heard some conversations. One Manualla Kazee came once every 10 or 12 days. He came once on the 15 Assin, but I had occasion to write to Mr. Jebb’s banyan, & Manualla refused to carry the letter thence. I remember I [ILL] my letter & saw it in jail that have no seen it since that day. I tell the particulars on my oath: I came up by a habeas corpus this day. The prisrs first came up to take their trial on 29 Jyaishh last (9 June 1791) the 2d time, 7 or 8 days after. 7 Cartic last was before Decr sessions. I do not know why they stayed in jail witht being tried at that session.
