The Lr to the Committee 14 Febr: 1791 was written in conseqce of a Lr from G. G. & Col, requiring me (says Deft) to prod: the testimonies upon [which] I asserted that Mr. L: had taken unwarrantable liberties with my Character. It was written without malice to Mr. Larkins & there is nothing in it that can be said to be false & scandalous.
