from the Dumdumma road & leads towards Chitpur; but the four paics coming up to them attempted to stop them. On which the Dacoits drew their Talwars & ran at the paics with uplifted swords; I was then following them alone, at some distance but in sight, & I called out to the Dacoits “take care what you do, take care that you don’t hurt any of the Company’s people.” And I desired the paics to let them go where they liked.
