if this Confession, or any Evidence obtained by means of it, should be admitted. Courts of Justice are extreamly Chast in the observance of such promises.
The Prisoner could not understand, only that Mr. Plowden would not be prosecutor, but that others might prosecute, and Mr. Plowden might then give Evidence. The Man thought he was safe in making a Confession after the promise made by Mr. Plowden.
