Charged with Stealing out of the dwelling house of Mr. Plowden, which would have been a Capital offence however I am inclined to think it is not a performance of the promise, for the promise was, not that some lenity should be shown in the prosecution, but that Mr. Plowden would forgive him as far as it was in his power, and Mr. Plowden might in effect have forgiven him entirely, by not revealing the Confession, but only
