Mr. Halsey States two Defences, One that the Town of Chinsurah was taken possession of by Samuel Eyres Esq: a Lieutenant in His Majesty’s Navy; and that therefore the Town was not taken by the Forces of the Company alone.
Mr. Davies, stated some Letters dated in 1782 between Mr. Ross and Mr. Halsey.
