Gunga Narain Sircar committed for a Contempt April 3d 1778 at the Sittings. The order is made in the Prothonotary’s Office, as I reckon it ought to be, and is enter’d in the Cause, Bobun Narain Chowdry, v Kistchunder Baijee. In the Committed it is enter’d he is committed into the Custody of the Sheriff for Equivocating and Contradicting himself in the Course of his Evidence, and for repeatedly denying what he had before Sworn”.
Gunganarain is now brought up and discharged by Order of the Court. See at page 114 my Note on his Commitment.
