When Ramchunder was turned out & Gunga Govind Sing was put in, he at that time succeeded to the same office that Ramchunder had held.
Q. Do you know the reason of Ramchunder’s being dismissed.
A. I know so far that he was placed in the room of Gunga Govind Sing by General Clavering & that Mr. Hastings was angry with him, & when he (Mr. Hastings) came into power he turned him out.
