Monday 24 July 1786.
This day I returned to the Court after an absence of 7 days, beside 2 Sundays. Those 7 days had been entirely employed in taking evidce for the Deft in the cause of Praunkissen Singh – against Banarassy Gose, which is not yet finished. During my absence Mr. Justice Hyde sate alone on the bench, except that Mr. Justice Jones, who returned to Calcutta on friday the 21st instead, was also in Court on Saturday the 22d –
This morning likewise, after one or two motions in Equity, was spent in hearing evidce in the same cause.
