“On the 6th of October abt 7 in the evening as I was taking leave of Mr. Chabert, I saw Mr. Rishton come up with a guard of Sepahies with fixed with bayonets; - he bid us go to our rooms, I asked wt the Sepahies were brot for, he did not answer but asked me wre my room was? I told him it was in the passage; - pointing to it.
