I and was beat by Mr. Vaughan at two different times, with intervals between the beatings; after the 2d beating I complained to Mr. Rishton, but had no redress; for he said they were such a set of quarrelsome people that his interfering would only make more disturbance. This passed on till the evening, when I was walking with another pris one John Wyat, a little after 5 o’clock; Mr. Vaughan came down stairs & began to quarrel with Wyat using bad language to him; but no strokes were given
