Jailer’s apartment on the 6th of October abt 4 or 5 in the afternoon when Mr. C: came thither with Mr. MacKillup and desired that they might both be put in Irons. The blood was then running down from [my?] face. Mr. Rishton refused to put them in Irons, and bid them go each to his own apartment. They went away. I saw nothing of what happened afterwards on the same evening, upstairs in the Middle Passage.
