Mercer to the [ILL] I saw him before Mr. Justice Hyde. [ILL] was seven or eight days after my arrival in Calcutta.
I do not know, whether he intended to kill the deceased or any other person by throwing the stone; but I believe he intended to do mischief to some one. I have made no other declaration out of court than what I declared in it, namely that I think Wyatt could not see the woman and therefore could not intend to kill her. There are several such stones as these about the village and by the river side. The women stood about seven or eight yards more or less from the door of my Bangalow.
