by my Sercar, that the Prisr was confined at Mr. Motte’s for having sold a drat of 5000 CR to anor black man, of [which] on the paymt was stopt at Mr. Cheap’s. I was surprised at this bec: I had not heard abt it [from] Mr. Cheap, & I requested Mr. Hamilton to write to Mr. Cheap & desire inform— if my Treasry order had bn presented for paymt, & mentd wt my Sercar had told me that prisr was arrested by Mr. Cheap’s desire.
