The Bill charges that he knowing that Salk might be provided at 7 Rs including every expense, did &c (ut sequitur)
And the Interrogatory thereon is “whether he did not know that it might be so provided.” To this he has only answered as was stated by Mr. Atkinson [ILL]
not expressly denying such Knowledge, but but a negative [ILL].

P: 298. my Edit.) the Defendant deny a Fact Charged in the Bill, he is to traverse or deny it (as the Case requires) directly, and not by Way of Negative pregnan; as if he be charged with the Recript of a Sum of Money, he must deny or traverse that he hath not [ILL] that sum,
