The prisoner being arraigned pleaded not guilty; and then prayed the Court to put off his trial on Accot of the absence of 3 material witnesses for whom he has had Subpoenas, but whose attendance he has not been able to procure, the peons who had the Subpoenas not having fod them viz –
1. Manachacone Abdulmassy, who is said to be the slave of an Armenian woman in Calcutta; - and who has been bound by recognizance to appear at the Session to answer for an assault on which however no indictment has been found.
2. Peter Jacob, a native xtian said to live at No. 9 in the
