I know the Prisoner by sight, I saw him the day the Pictures were stopp’d. I did not know him before. It was in the Burrah Bazar.
I saw the Prisoner going about offering to sell Pictures. Having heard Ramchurn had lost Pictures I suspected these were some of them. At first he ask’d Six Rupees for each Picture, at last the price was settled at Eight Rupees for the two – As he would not trust me with the Pictures I borrow’d from
