The Grand Jury for this present Sessions of Oyer and Terminer and General Goal delivery held in and for the Town of Calcutta and Factory of Fort William in Bengal by adjournment from the 10th day of this instant month of June, present and represent to your Lordships that their attention to those points which were particularly recommended to their Notice by the charge from the Bench, has made the present state of the Goal a chief object of their enquiries. The insufficiency of it both as to security and as to convenience has appeared so very evident to them that they feel themselves called upon by their oath to represent such insufficiency to this Court, in hopes that your Lordship may by communication with the Governour General in Council be able to apply the proper remedy to an evil of such magnitude.
