1777. Sessions. [Wednesday] Dec. 17.

They Acquitted the Prisoner, by their Verdict – Not Guilty.
Mr. Moss, Advocate for the Prisoner moved for a Copy of the Indictment. That was refused: then he moved that the Clerk of the Crown might make up the Record of the Acquittal, and that was granted. It was said the Clerk of the Crown would make up the Record at the request of any Person who would pay him his Fees.
There were beside this Trial of Mr. Ford two or three Indictments for Burglary tried.
One of these was against
Gungaram.
Who was found Guilty of Burglary. The Prosecutor swore he found the Prisoner in his house in the night and that on his seizing the Prisoner, he drew a little knife from the Cloth he wore round him, and attempted to stab Gunsam the Prosecutor. He said he found the string that tied the door of his house had been cut. Gunsam swore that after he had left the Prisoner in the Custody of the Tanadar or Watchman, he miss’d two cloths, and they were found on the Prisoner, and were now produced.
