The pay & Batta of Lieut Colonel was intended as the only compens for the duties of Comy of Provisions. The pay of a full Colonel exclusive of his Batta is 300 Rs a month. The Batta in the field is 550; but that of a Lieut Colonel is probably not more than half.

The cloathing of a Brigade is universally considered as a Mre of profit though there is no salary or pay annexed to it.
