The indictmt charges the prisr with having on the 30 Oct: 1788 feloniously, wilfully & of his malice aforethought made an Assault upon one Mohun [a woman] and with having feloniously, wilfully &c squeezed & compressed the neck & windpipe of her the said Mohun with a certain cloth, (val: &c) & with having thereby choaked and strangled her, of which strangling she instantly died; and so they say that prisr did feloniously &c &c kill & murder the said Mohun.
