When we had parted them the prisoners went away, and as I saw that the two other men belonged to the same Company with them, I knew they could tell where the prisoners were to be found. I took the two men, whom I pursued and they informed Major (Maitland) Maclean, who the prisoners were. As I was going to the Havildar Major, I saw the dead body of Mastaram brought by the last witness and several others, the Havildar Major order’d the body to be taken to the Serjeant Major’s: I went about my business, and can say no more.
