N. B. The prisoner surrendered himself into the custody of the Sheriff, for the purpose of taking his trial, immediately before the trial began; in consideration whereof and of his rank as a military officer, he was permitted to stand within the Bar, but behind the Table in the front of the Court; as had been done before in the case of Mr. Ford, a military Surgeon.
