1781. Sessions. [Friday] Dec. 14.
To his Recognizance, and had pleaded, but did not desire to defer the Trial till next Session as he might have done.
The Defendant had pleaded not Guilty, and he was present in Court, but stood at the Corner of the Table though not as in Custody.
David Cuming Esq. Was the first Witness: he began to give his Evidence at Twelve o’Clock.
Mr. Justice Chambers tried this Indictment, and he wrote down the Evidence, therefore I did not take the trouble to so to do.
The Evidence on the side of the Prosecution lasted till about Twenty Minutes after Seven in
