and seduced by the instigation of the devil on the 29th day of May in the year of our Lord 1791 and in the 31st year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth with force & arms at Calcutta at Fort William in the province of Bengal in and upon one John Fringee in the peace of God & our said Lord the King then & there being feloniously wilfully & of his malice aforethought did make an assault, and that he the said John Browrigg with a certain stick of the value of one penny of lawful money of Great Britain, which he the said John Browrigg in his right hand, then & there had and held, the said John Fringee in and upon the head, stomach, Back & sides of him the said John Fringee then & there feloniously unlawfully & of his malice aforethought, did strike, beat, bruise and batter, giving to him the said John Fringee then & there with the stick aforesaid, in & upon the abovesaid Head, stomach, Back and sides of him the said John Fringee several mortal blows & bruises of which said several mortal blows & bruises, the said John Fringee from the said 29th day of May, in the year aforesaid at Calcutta & factory of Fort William in the province aforesaid did languish and languishing did live until the 24th day of June in the year aforesaid in which said 4th day of June in the year aforesaid the said John Fringee at Calcutta at Fort William aforesaid of the said several blows & bruises died.
