On the same day I recd two letters from my master at the courthouse, one to be carried to Mr. Lisle, the other, to Mr. Larkins, I delivered the 2d letter to an hircarrah of my master’s, & sent it by him to Mr. Larkins: the other I carried to Mr. Lisle, who then gave me the two Europe letters for my master, and another, letter for Mr. Larkins. I do not recollect that he desired me to take them all three to his master. The letter for Mr. Larkins was open. I wafered it with a wafer found on the table, as I generally do not open letters, which I am to send. Hearing Mr. Larkins’s name mentioned I thought it was to be sent to him, but do
