An acknowledgment of the Signature by the Defendants, which here is not suspicious Evidence for by the Evidence in many Causes, we know it is a very common Practice here, when a Writing is signed and Witnessed by the Servants of the signer, to send a Servant of the Man to whom the Money is to be paid to ask the Signer whether he acknowledges it.
