After my indictmt I was [ILL] to T. Jones’s banyan: I was 3 or 4 times in his service, & 3 or 4 months at a time. I went from Calcutta to Dacca to serve Mr. Geo Thompson; & only for that purpose. When I was at the lodging of Omer Singh in May 1790, I was on good terms with Him: I never disputed with him, nor with Tonu Soom: they never charged me with having forged a bond or note, to my face. It was about 5 or 6 years ago that Mr. Driver indicted me: but I had no dispute [ILL] Tonu Shome: I knew afterwards that Tonu was concerned with Mr. Driver, & then I discharged him about 4 years ago. After that we were reconciled, by means of the females in our families. This was 3 or 3½ years ago. I indorsed a note of Tonu.
