No 7. Affidavit of Mooteram.
that in the month before his death he purchased diamonds &c to the value of 3000 Rs.
through this depont, & gave him & Kabbir Beg orders to attend upon a Jeweller who was to set them – 2pr of Jehangeeries & 2pr of Neruttons were furnished & brot home. Beside these Shah B Beg caused a Labada of Cloth of Gold to be made, & on the 1 Shaval, (being the Eid) he put them all on & took Behadur Beg with him to the Musjid.
And this deponent further saith that upon the return of the said Shahbaz Beg Khan from such Place of worship as aforesaid He the said Shahbaz Beg Khan again publickly gave out and declared it was his Intention to go from Patna and proceed to his own Country leaving his Nephew Behadre Beg Khan one of the complainants in this cause His Heir and successor in all his posessions Effects and property in Indostan – And this deponent further saith that on the seventh day of the month of Shawal in the same year and only a few days before the death of the said Shahbez Beg Khan. He the said Shahbaz Beg Khan paid all his servants their wages and sent this deponent together with one [ILL] Sing to Calcutta to receive some money which was then due to him the said Shahbaz Beg Khan from the Honourable the United Company &c and from other People, and before this deponent returned from Calcutta to Patna aforesaid this deponent heard that the said Shahbaz Beg Khan had departed this life- And this deponent further saith that from the Time of the arrival of the said Behadur Beg Khan from Cabool at Patna aforesaid which happened as this deponent has heard and
