to run at Interest at the rate of Twelve per Cent per annum. Now the condition of the obligation is such that if the above bound Alexander Davidson his Heirs Executors Administrators or assignes shall well and truly pay or leave to be paid unto the abovemention Thomas Cotton his Heirs Executors Administrators or assignes the full and just sum of sicca rupees Eleven thousand seven hundred and forty seven two anna and nine Pice upon demand together with such Interest as shall or may became due thereupon then this objection to be void and of no Effect otherwise to continue in full force and virtue which being read and heard the said Alexander Davidson says that the said Thomas Cotton ought not to have or maintain his said Action thereof against him the said Alexander Davidson there was due to the said Thomas Cotton upon and by virtue of the said writing obligatory the whole Principal Sum of Sicca Rupees Eleven thousand seven hundred and forty seven two annas and nine Pice mention in the Condition of the said Writing obligatory and the said sum of Sicca Rupees Two thousand six hundred and eighty fourteen annas and six pice for the Interest thereof and no more to wit at Fort William in Bengal Aforesaid And the said Alexnader Davidson further saith that the said Thomas Cotton at the time of his Exhibiting the said Plaint against the said Alexander Davidson and before to wit at Fort William in Bengal aforesaid was and still is indebted to the said Alexander Davidson in a larger sum of money than the monies due from the said Alexander Davidson to the said Thomas Cotton upon the said writing obligatory by the said Condition thereof to wit in the sum of Sicca Rupees Fifteen thousand of Lawful money of
