in prosecution against him and pleading that his Property and family would be disgraced and undone for ever if this Defendant did not take upon himself the trust he often in his houses Craved to repose in this Defendant and to He this Defendants Interest with this Defendants friends the late Messieurs Davies and Page, Mr. James Dunkin Mr. Crisp Mr. Solomon Hamilton and others and exert himself not only in getting further time for payment of the Demands against him but to save his little Property [ILL] Swallowed up in Expences by the persecution, particularly of the said Juggernaut Sircar who he assured this Defendant had possessed himself of most of his Property Altho’ he the said Jaggernaut Sercar was then in his the said Complainants Debt. This Defendant further answering Saith that Commiserating the Situation in which the said Complainant represented himself to be and firmly believing those representations, he did accordingly exert himself and with respect to the first of the before mentioned Claims made by Graham and Mowbray on behalf of Mr. Tolley he gave the said Complainant instant relief by paying one half of the Debt Virt Six thousand Sicca Rupees in Cash and obtained him above one year’s further time for payment of the Balance upon which the said Complainants Property which had been seized for the said Debt was released, in the second Case Virt the Claim of Juggernaut Sircar as the said Complainant did
