not admit that Debt this Defendant did all that the nature of the Case would admit of that is for a period of near two years exerting his influence with Mr. Pye who had then Cognizance of the [ILL] Messieures Crisp, James Dunkin and Johnson Hamilton in drawing and sending in a great variety of Petitions, Letters &c to the Governor General in Council Sudder Dewanny &c the whole of which before mentioned Gentlemen (now a lull) are ready to attest the infinite trouble and anxiety this Defendant [ILL] in the business and as to the third Claim of Radacaunt Chuckerbutty who had Secured a great quantity of the said Complainants Lands &c in Execution this Defendant paid to Mr. [ILL] his Attorney the whole of the Debt Principal Interest Poundage and Costs amounting to near Eight thousand Six Rupees
