[ILL] Whereas Banarassy Sing seapoy of the 23 Battalion was so in Baudar last at [Barampoor?] – knows all the prisoners – they were then all there – knew the deceased, he was Havildar of the 22d Battalion then station at [Barampoor?] [ILL] he assisted to carry him from the Paddy field to his lodging first – he was afterwards carried to the Hospital – he saw him [ILL] – knows the Surgeons Spotswood & Turnbull, who examined him – his death was occasioned by blows on his head with a stick – he saw the blow given about 11 o’clock – he died about 3 o’clock of the same day – The Blow was given by the Prisoner Bulwant Sing – There were 3 [Battalions?] at play – Assaram [ordered?] Bulwant Sing & his other Seapoys to [hit?] the [opposers?] who ran away – and on about 50 paces they came to Blows – The [ILL] ran [away?] & was found
