by 10 or 20 Seapoys – he was [mistaken & I think?] by Bulwant and Shaika Micow with sticks – the other prisoners were near – Bulwants stick was a large Bamboo – Micow’s was less – Assaram was then at the [ILL] when he gave the first orders to beat the deceased and called him “The Boy” – Did not see Prisoner who [ILL] his hand struck – knows not by whom – the first blow was given by Bulwant Sing – several were given – he did not fall at the first Blow he received 4 or 5 before he fell – no blow given after he fell – knows of no preceeding quarrel between the prisoners and the deceased – The other prisoners after he fell beat him into the mud – calling out “Kill him” “Kill him” – they had sticks – the [deceased?] had a Tulwar & [ILL] – Gokoon Snig [hit?] his hand before the deceased ran away or [ILL] the Blows.
