me. I saw the 22d battalion run away, & Bulwant stood then near me. He stood about ten minutes near me. I then left him there and went home. I did not see the 5th battalion pursue the 22d. If there was a pursuit, it must have been after I went. I did not stay till the affray was over. After the 22d gave away I staid there a very little while; perhaps five minutes.
Bulwant had a stick in his hand about an inch and a half thick and as high as my forehead.
