An Action of Assault, Battery, and imprisonment; Plea of the General Issue, Not Guilty.
The defendant appear’d to be Head Banyan to Mr. Lyon, a builder, employ’d in carrying on many buildings here. The evidence brought by the Plaintiff proved that he was seized by a Jemmatdar and Peons in the service of Mr. Lyon, and much beat by them and particularly, had a great knock on the Eye.
Afterward Judgment for the Plaintiff in this Cause; and One Hundred Rupees, Dammages in this Cause: and in another Cause for the same Transaction against another Defendant, an hundred Rupees dammages.
