Still doth refuse to the Damage of the said Kissenchunder Gosaul of Arcot Rupees Ten Thousand.

And the said Ramnarain Misser by Edward Brampton his Attorney Comes and Defends the Wrong and Injury when and so forth and prays [Oyer?] of the said Writing Obligatory and it is read to him and so forth and he also prays [Oyer] of the Condition of the said Writing obligatory and it [ILL] to him which being read and heard the said Ramnarain Misser says that the said Kissenchunder Gosaul Ought not to have or maintain the said Action thereupon Against him because he says that he the said Ramnarain Misser paid to the said Kissenchunder Gosaul upon the Day and at the time in the said Condition of the said writing obligatory specified the sum of arcot Rupees Two Thousand together with all Interest for the same which he the said Ramnarain Misser ought to have paid to the said Kissenchunder Gosaul upon that Day according to the Form and Effect of the said Condition to wit at Calcutta at Fort William in the Province of Bengal and this he is ready to verify wherefore he prays Judgment of the said Kissenchunder Gosaul ought to have so maintain his said Action thereupon against him.
