An Action for Assault and Imprisonment.
The Plaintiff was a Zemindar in the District of Dacca. He paid 7200 Rupees a year Revenue to the Company, and it was said he made a profit to himself of about 4000 Rupees a year.
The Defendant was a Merchant and was Security to the Dacca Council for the Plaintiff and many other Zemindars, at the desire of Doctor Mills who was his Master, and was the real security, but Golam Naby who was his Banyan was the nominal Security to evade the Orders of the Company that English Men should neither hold Zemindarries, nor any Land, nor be
