This was in 1190 – Wts then says “I think it was in the year 1190,that one night, coming down stairs at Deft’s house, I saw Neelmoney Meter, Sittaram & Buddinaut Paulit going up.” He then gives a minute accot of a conversation, in which a list was produced of the outstanding debts of Santiram Singh, and which is supposed by Deft’s Counsel to be the same conversation that Sittaram Ghose had given an accot of, who swore that Buddinaut Paulit took down in Deft’s presence his answer respecting each debt in the list, whereas this Wts swears that nothing was written by Buddinaut in his presence, & that he was there almost all the time.

Wts, a Servant of Joynarain & formerly of Gocul Gosaul, remembers a bond dated 1 Febry 1778 given by Gocul to Banarassy, but never saw it. He did see the bond to relate, from a book of accounts, a number of payments made on
